Cresent City California

well we have made it to California !! Cresent City is about 8 hrs from Eureka. we needed to get more fuel as we have motored the whole way. had the jib and staysail up for a bit, but not enough wind to make the weather window. We were also travelling with a fisherman down the coast. It was great to have someone to talk to on the VHF. he was travellling alone,so very much appreciated the company ( and extra lookout)Had great weather, all sun except for the last morning where we had fog til about 10am. Then back to sun. saw 7 pelicans, albatross, dolphins played in our bow wake and Steve and kids saw a couple of whale tails- humbacks they think! I missed it! bummer!!! If we stay here a couple of days, we will be going to the redwood forest.

Hello little travellin' family!

How are all the "sickies" doing?
dad left a message yesterday saying he hadn't heard anything. I'll let him know all is safe and sound. Be sure to send postcards every once in a while, so we can adventure vicariously through you!!
Loving you tonnes and tonnes. Squeeze each other for us,
Danny Lou, Andrew & crew xoxox

Hey Sailors!
Good to hear your voyage went so very well.
I went directly into the bathroom and looked at the Crescent City, California chart on the wall! There you are.
Hope you get a chance to see the Redwoods. An awesome sight.

Much love, Diana, Phil, Barrett and Brendan Wakefield

Well...seems you have done a fantastic job, am happy to hear that you're in Crescent City and hopefully resting up from your bouts with "the sickness"! 'Twill be smooth sailing from here on in...the first part is always the toughest. But as they say, when the going gets tough, the tough get going! (I was following your little red dot on the map!!!)

Loving you all always,
Mom

Congratulations! Quite an achievement, your first offshore passage. So happy to hear that all is well, it's all downhill from there, which in this case is a good thing. Well done and we'll enjoy watching your progress.

Wonderful achievement, well done. It's really exciting to receive your coordinates. Been plotting them on google-earth, marking the date. Hugs to everyone.
PS Emma, We still have that "special thing" waiting til we see you. lol

Congratulations, you've got your sea legs now! You've achieved two big milestones: getting off the dock and completing your first passage. Way to go!

Ruth tipped us off to using Google Earth to track you - it's really cool.

Hope you had some clear nights to see all the stars.

Enjoy northern CA and we look forward to your next posting.
