Happy New year! we caught fish

Well the fish gods are with us . we caught 4 tuna yesterday and 5 more today. bang bang. just like that. using green zukers and following the birds.( this was taught to us by our Tuna man "Dave" we met in Cresent city! they are about 10 pounds each. we are motor sailing right now as there is just a smalll breeze. our friends are just ahead with their spinaker flying. we almost sunk our boat last night. one of the hoses on the water maker blew off, and the thru hull was still open. took only 15
minutes for us to have water half way up our engine pan in the bilge. quite the scare, thankfully we found the problem quick and pumped it all out - thank god for the manual emergency bilge pump!! and the hose is fixed and the thru hull will be doubley checked that it is closed!

take care all we will be in Mag Bay sometime tomorrow Jan 1 2008

hugs,
Dionne

Happy New Year Orca III!!!
Still lovin' your journal entries and photos - so just how many tuna sandwiches do you plan to eat? Grilled tuna you say? Sounds too fishy - better stick with tuna sandwiches and lotsa mayo!
Wishing you all the very best for the new year, looks like it's off to a good start! A little different from this time last year, eh?!
Big hugs for each of you from all of us,
God Bless and Take Care

Hi Everyone...this email came from Dionne...see below:

Hey all, we are just getting ready to pull anchor and leave this beautiful bay. We have listened to the weather and it looks like no wind for the next 4 days. so it's a motoring we are going to be doing. Heading for Bahia Santa Maria for the night and then we will be in Mag Bay by the following afternoon or so. ( unless we decide to stay another day there) Our friends on Free Style are having engine troubles - leaking lots of oil. Steve (and our friend Robert) will be fixing it together. they
have to pull the engine out and replace all the seals/gaskets. they figure 3 days and around $1500 between the two of them. So this is Steve's first big job. that will sure help the cruising kitty.
I am making water right now and I have been keeping a very close eye on the hoses as to not have that lovely scare happen again. We now have ALL manual bilge pumps working and electric ones two. ( probably over kill but I'd rather that) We have 3 manual(they are big!), 3 electric and one machanical off the engine ( this one is almost ready , need to get a belt for it)

I am looking forward to getting to Mag Bay - I want to get fresh mangos, papayas - haven't seen them yet at the small villages. and also go to the markets.

Well take care all,
I can't wait to see the blog!! Happy New Year and hope the weather is getting better for you all.

love
Dionne, and the Crew of Orca III

Hi you guys!!

Haven't had a chance to sit down and write for awhile...we've been battling sickness all through Christmas...we had to have our turkey and ham dinner on the 30th. Of course that was after no one showed anymore symptoms for at least 2 days, and then we spent 2 fun-filled days disinfecting every inch of every surface in the house...some holidays! Had to come back to work just to get a break!!! Hope you all are doing well, and are at the beginning of a wonderful new year!!! Got your email, and Merrick got your postcard!! we love to receive these from you. This Sunday will be fun. Going to WeddingFair with Mom, Dana, me , Andrew and Steve. Gonna try and win the $87,000 Dream Wedding!!! That's all for now have to go to work. Wishing you guys a safe and fantastic 2008!!! Loving you tonnes and tonnes,
DannyLou, Andrew and crew. xoxox
P.S. Kyle, Maya & Emma: I take it Santa found you all OK...How could he not with all the latitude, longitude configurations being posted!!!!Love you so much, hug your mom extra big for me!!XOX
