Off to Russell

Pohutukawa Tree this is the New Zealand christmas tree! these are the most beautiful red flowers and they have come out early which is supposed to mean a long hot summer! we'll see

the kids - Mattie, (meridian)Emma, Sophie(Meridian), Maya ,Kyle, Jayred(tin soldier)

We left around 10:30 am to take the ferry over to Russell, Dorothy marie, Tin Soldier, and Meridian came with us - we had a caravan of vehicles! it was a great trip
the whole day was fun. we checked out the shops - I found my book I was looking for "the red tent"
The view from the flagstaff point was great! we could see the whole area, even where we are in Opua!
the oldest church in New Zealand with the oldest tomb stones(?) very cool, even has the musket holes still in the sides of the church, not sure why one would shoot a church

the whole group of us at the beach! what a great day!

Emma and Sophie swinging away!
we are leaving Opua today to head towards Auckland, will stop at few islands along the way.

Keep up the great work on your photo journal...it's like being with you without the stress of "traveling" (for me, that is!). I just love the subjects you choose, too bad I couldn't read the dates on the tombstones, since it's the oldest, would like to have seen just how old!

Wishing you smooooth sailing!

Loving and missing you more...

I see Maya's grown out of her blue jeans. Fun to see them living on with Emma.
