Tutukaka

Yep you read that right!! Neat quiet little place. we arrived here on our Thursday with buddies from Meridian after leaving Whangruru. Forgot how much we love to anchor!. Whangaruru is very beautiful as well. We anchored out in Tutukaka while Meridian went to the dock. we came ashore and had a nice walk - checked out the beach and picked a bunch of flowers. Now our boat looks all pretty! love those flowers.....
We had a few drinks at the local pub and also ate dinner there. Have a read of the sign in pub..... Yes we could buy Kyle or Maya a beer and even a second one but no to a third, I asked the lady behind the bar! can you believe it!
I forgot to mention on our way to shore our outboard stalled and wouldn't start again, so Steve had to figure it out while we paddled to a nearby floating dock thing..... had water in the fuel . He got it started enough to get back to the boat and get another tank of fuel. Then we were off to shore.
Here is our ace mechanic fixing the outboard...... seems were are having many engine troubles. The main engine on Orca III has a leaking oil cooler - so we got lots of salt water in the engine. Steve drained it and added new oil twice and we are now on a mission to find a part or to get it fixed. we are hoping that someone can help us in Auckland , otherwise it's off to Christchruch! Guess it's our turn , we've been lucky so far. Steve was able to bypass the system and we can motor for a short time at a low RPM. Its good we are not to far from Auckland.

the Meridan girls and Emma playing under a picnic table . they had so much fun.

Maya down at the beach! she found a ton more shells!! I think half the weight of the boat is because of all the shells we have!
